The Ferrari Lab had a fantastic time at ISME2020 in Auckland! Dana Tribbia delivered a great oral presentation on the challenges of cultivating Vulcanimicrobiota, an oligotrophic bacterial lineage from Antarctica, sparking plenty of exciting questions and discussion from the audience. We were also thrilled to see Dana's recent work published in Applied and Environmental Microbiology. [journals.asm.org]
Our research was further showcased through poster presentations from Tom Laird, Priyanka Rani Majumdar, Julia Meltzer, and Nathali Machado de Lima. It was wonderful to share the experience with colleagues from across the BABS community, celebrating the breadth of research being undertaken across microbiology and microbial ecology.
Beyond the science, the conference provided a great opportunity to reconnect with collaborators, meet new colleagues, exchange ideas, and enjoy everything Auckland had to offer. And, of course, the dance floor was one of the highlights of the week!
