Congratulations to Nic for her thesis submission!

We are very pleased to share that Nic submitted his thesis on June 3. Nic did a great research using genome mining to identify polar soil bacterial communities with novel biosynthetic potential.

Her research had three main objectives:

  • To identify polar soil bacterial communities with novel biosynthetic potential

  • To establish a culture collection of Antarctic isolates with demonstrated bioactive capabilities

  • To perform whole genome sequencing on biotechnologically promising isolates for biosynthetic gene cluster (BGC) mining.

Check it out her publication here.

Congratulations Nic!
